FarmerJawn is reintroducing farming into the lifestyles of urban people to cultivate physical, social, & environmental health.
We’re a 128-acre working farm, building a model that enables regenerative organic food production by and for underserved communities. That makes us the largest Black-woman owned regenerative and transitioning to organic produce farm in America. We provide access to fresh chemical-free foods within food deserts and the community at large through our storefronts. Education on the how and where food comes from is offered through on-farm and in-class school-based programming and adult agri-business training. We are increasing Awareness around the challenges and opportunities plaguing our society while also creating Lifestyle products to live happier and healthier lives.

01 PRODUCTION
We operate over 120+ acres of farmland, offering a place for our community to learn about and grow their own organic agribusinesses. We’re also curating food distribution hubs using inner city properties.
02 ACCESS
We have multiple models to empower access to fresh, organic produce throughout underserved communities. First, our CSA offers a simple subscription service to get fresh produce on a regular schedule (sign up for our 2023 season). Second, our Greenery provides a retail location to buy and learn how to grow food on your own. Lastly, we’re launching our first CornerJawn soon - a new approach to the corner store, designed to provide a “food is medicine” alternative to the neighborhood staple with fresh, convenient, and affordable options for those who need them most.
03 EDUCATION
We believe that systemic change begins with education. To that end, we’ve developed several programs to provide training through our Agriculture Business Incubator, School-Based Programming for local schools, and Community Classes hosted at our farms and partner sites.
04 AWARENESS
There are many challenges that face Black, brown, and marginalized communities. We are addressing those obstacles by increasing awareness through profile and community-oriented events. We’re forming Partnerships with local and global organizations to boost visibility around our model, and push for regenerative agriculture practices nationwide.

THE BIG PICTURE
No matter who you are or where you live, this affects you.
Although FarmerJawn was built primarily to support underserved communities, all humans are facing (or are about to face) food-related health issues. Our mono-crop mass agriculture industry is unsustainable, and is destroying the environment. Local farming could change that.
But fresh, organic food is not a privilege; it is a human right. Marginalized groups have the poorest health outcomes and the highest rate of gun violence. In the face of these issues, each compounded by systemic racism, urban agriculture is a vector of hope. Access to healthy food, environments bettered by healthy soil and crops, and a community built around local farms can revitalize urban communities and connect rural food systems alike. This leads to healthier societies and a healthier planet.
